NISHIDA Kitaro's first published book, “An Inquiry into the Good”, was released when he was 40 years old. It is based on his lecture drafts and papers published in academic journals when he was a professor at the Fourth High School. Looking at the contract, it is evident that the original title, “Pure Experience and Reality”, was crossed out and corrected to “An Inquiry into the Good”. This change was suggested by his student, KIHIRA Tadayoshi, who played a significant role in the publication process.
